Commissioned in Dec’97 and injured in July’99, Major DP Singh never considered his reality as a misfortune. He took it in his stride and learnt to be independent. Owing to his self reliance, he conquered his weakness and ran his 1st marathon in 2009. His firm faith in God and himself made way for the silver lining in the dark clouds.

After waiting for 10 years for everything to fall into place, Major DP Singh made a came back through running. Though his first marathon was a hop run, it became a major confidence boost for him and since then, there has been no looking back.

He was revived by a specialist, only to be told three days later that his right leg would be amputated below his knee because gangrene had set in.
